High Commissioner Duties and Responsibilities(State And Regional)

  • (1.)Oversee, guide and direct the Conveners for their assigned region.
  • (2.)The minimum of 1 Clan Muir event must be sponsored for your assigned region annually, and the appearance of you at any 3 Scottish Highland Clan events representing Clan Muir annually.
  • (3.)Keep records of all Conveners and Clan Muir required events sponsored within your region, and submitted to the Clan Muir annually for evaluation.
  • (4.)A temporary leave of absence may be granted by sending a request to the Clan Muir Society with your information and time line.
  • (5.)If over 6 months of absence from duty will be necessary, another must be appointed to take your place until you can resume your duties.
  • (6.)In the event of your withdrawal of service, please submit a letter of resignation within 30 days of your intended leave to The Clan Muir Society.
    • Regional High Commissioner must host an annual convention/conference for all their Convener's and clann members under them within their local and regional area and to be open to public as an educational experience of Clan Muir.
      Regional High Commissioner will submit an annual report on all their Convener's and their progress, and if they have fullffilled their duties, and if not..why, to the Clan Muir Headquarters. Also, a written analysis of the years work, with ideas to present to further extend the clans exposure and success in the coming year, as well as projections and any requests needed to enhance their future efforts.

      Clan Business

    • (a.) All items marketed by the Clan or Society, under the Clan Name; require the written approval of the Chief.
    • (b.) All items sold by the Clan or Society will sold through vendors approved by the Chief.

      Complaints about Clan Matters by Clan Members.

      • (a.) All Clansmen have the right to address grievances dealing with Clan matters directly with the Chief.
      • (b.) All grievances will be submitted through the Chain of Command to the Chief in writing using either e-mail or standard mail.
      • (c.) All submitted grievances will be addressed by either the Chief or his designated representative and answered within one week of receipt of the complaint.
